Manzanilla
Juan Piñero Manzanilla Maruja is derived from the last “solera” of the original Manzanilla Maruja. A classic Sanlucar manzanilla with an average age of over 8 years. The production approach is very dynamic, only small quantities are made to extend the life of the “velo de flor”. If the production is too large, this yeast layer (flor) will disappear or become too thin, so that is why only a very limited number of 0.375 liter bottles are ‘harvested’ every year.
Juan Piñero Manzanilla Maruja is made from 100% Palomino Fino grown on “albariza” soil in Pago del Hornillo, Sanlucar de Barrameda with 8 years aging in an 8 barrel “criadera” system. This fresh sherry has a golden yellow color in the glass. In the nose and mouth, the sherry wine is fresh and salty and has the typical Sanlúcar Manzanilla style with hints of iodine and minerals with a long finish.
