Juan Piñero

Manzanilla Maruja (37.5 cl)

Manzanilla Pasada

Juan Piñero Manzanilla Maruja is derived from the last “solera” of the original Manzanilla Maruja. A classic Sanlucar manzanilla with an average age of over 8 years. The production approach is very dynamic, only small quantities are made to extend the life of the “velo de flor”. If the production is too large, this yeast layer (flor) will disappear or become too thin, so that is why only a very limited number of 0.375 liter bottles are ‘harvested’ every year.

Juan Piñero Manzanilla Maruja is made from 100% Palomino Fino grown on “albariza” soil in Pago del Hornillo, Sanlucar de Barrameda with 8 years aging in an 8 barrel “criadera” system. This fresh sherry has a golden yellow color in the glass. In the nose and mouth, the sherry wine is fresh and salty and has the typical Sanlúcar Manzanilla style with hints of iodine and minerals with a long finish.

ABOUT JUAN PIÑERO

Bodegas Juan Piñero was an Almacenista who sold his wines to bodegas Argüeso and La Gitana. From 2013 they started bottling themselves. They also took the stocks and old brand Maruja Manzanilla from Bodegas Terry over. The bodega is located in the middle of the town of Sanlucar on Calle Trasbolsa near the river Guadalquivir. In order to retain as much taste as possible, the wines are only very visible filtered.

Call Manzanilla Pasada overripe and she will never look at you again. Right near the end of her education she is allowed the slightest bit of oxidation. Producing subtle notes of hazelnut and tobacco. Making her the ideal companion for the primary dishes in your meal.
