Despite stating a slightly different number on the bottle, the solera Del Duque is actually more than three hundred years old. It all began when Mr. Manuél González (the founder of the company González Byass) bought 16 boots from the Duke of Medinaceli in 1835. Consequently, “Del Duque” means ‘from the Duke’ in Spanish.
Besides it being a good story for impressing your guests, this Amontillado features a beautifully dark golden colour due to the, on average 30 years, time spent in cask.
With sharp aromas, because of the time of biological ageing (under flor), combined with those of walnuts, Del Duque ensures a dry and powerful palate, very well structured with a long finish.

Amontillado is the best of both worlds. Starting life under a protective layer of flor, casting it off later to fully experience the world. Enjoyed on a late summer evening, or halfway through dinner. Expect to be pleasantly entertained by its dry finish and aftertaste of nuts and wood.
Goes well with soups, white meat, blue fish (tuna), wild mushrooms and semi-cured cheeses, vegetables such as asparagus and artichokes
