Viña AB is a González Byass’ youngest amontillado experiencing two types of aging: biological and oxidative. Relatively young that is, because this Amontillado already aged for a minimum of 12 years in the solera system.
In its nose you will still find subtle and delicate notes with typical Palomino aromas of hazelnuts, and slight reminders of yeast due to its time under the flor. Its light amber colour however, reveals the contact with oxygen during the oxidative ageing later on.
Because of the 12 years spent in cask, Viña AB features subtle notes of oak, a pleasant palate with a balanced acidity. Long aftertaste with slight saltiness and slight bitterness to finish off.

Amontillado is the best of both worlds. Starting life under a protective layer of flor, casting it off later to fully experience the world. Enjoyed on a late summer evening, or halfway through dinner. Expect to be pleasantly entertained by its dry finish and aftertaste of nuts and wood.
Goes well with soups, white meat, blue fish (tuna), wild mushrooms and semi-cured cheeses, vegetables such as asparagus and artichokes
