Not so long ago, bodegas Juan Piñero bought a century-old bodega in the town Sanlúcar de Barrameda. In the lower parts of town in fact, famous for their masterous manzanillas. After some years of producing excellent wines as an Almacenista for a number of high-end brands, they started botteling their own. With good reason too.

Oloroso Great Duke 12 Years is one of these gems which, after an ageing period of (who would have thought) 12 years through a system of 13 (!) criaderas, is finally ready to enjoy. This powerful Sherry features aromas of diverse types of nuts, spices like confit orangepeel, tabacco, truffle and leather.

Without a hint of sweetness, also roasted nuts and other complex tones can be discovered in the palate of this well structured, dry and most flavourful Sherry.
