La Bota de Fino 115 “Macharnudo Alto” is a release made from the same winery in Jerez that produced the previous nine editions of La Bota de Fino, the first of which was bottled in 2006 as number 2 in the series. This new release is coming from a selection by Eduardo Ojeda, the person responsible for making this wine. The Equipo Navazos La Bota de Fino 115 is on average around eight years old and is the time that the wine has been allowed to mature under flor.
The nose shows very complex and intense aromas, and a remarkable roundness. The taste has the traditional buttery touch. This is a wine for connoisseurs, and it is bottled almost completely unfiltered, en rama, to retain its golden color and spiciness. It can certainly be enjoyed as soon as possible, but it will also evolve in the bottle and can surprise us for years to come. If stored with care, of course.
Only 6,000 bottles were produced.

Some things are better unfiltered. Fino en rama definitely is. Blatantly pure and fragrantly honest. She retains flavours and complexities ironed out in so many others. Exceptionally well to entice guests to sit down for a summer lunch in the garden.
Goes well with shellfish and fish, especially salty tastes (anchovies) or even raw (sashimi)
