Lustau’s East India Solera is a cream Sherry that has been aged in Pedro Ximénez casks. Centuries ago, barrels filled with Sherry – the so-called soleras – were placed on board the ships for additional ballast. During these travels, the Sherry was found to develop delicious aromas. The East India Solera is a blend of the 12-year-old “Don Nuno” Oloroso (80%) and 12-year-old “San Emilio” Pedro Ximénez and aged for another three years in a special, slightly warmer part of the bodega to replicate the character of the acient wines transported to India by boat in the past.

Mahogany colored with a green-orange rim with aromas of dried fruit, nuts and raisin. The taste contains a delicate soft sweetness, but is also full, complex and beautifully matured.
