Delgado Zuleta

Sanlúcar de Barrameda

A unique micro-climate ideal for aging Manzanilla sherries.

Bodegas Delgado Zuleta, established in 1744 by Francisco Gil de Ledesma y Sotomayor, stands as the oldest active sherry producer in the Marco de Jerez region. Located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the bodega benefits from the unique microclimate created by the Atlantic Ocean and the Guadalquivir River, ideal for aging Manzanilla sherries.

Their flagship Manzanilla, “La Goya,” introduced in 1918 and named after the famed flamenco dancer Aurora Mañanos Jauffré, exemplifies their commitment to quality and tradition. In 1978, Delgado Zuleta expanded by merging with the historic Bodegas Rodríguez La-Cave, incorporating renowned soleras like the Manzanilla Pasada “Barbiana.”

In celebration of their 280th anniversary, Delgado Zuleta launched “The Original Sherry Company,” a limited collection of high-end sherries, including Amontillado, Oloroso, and Palo Cortado, each with an average age of 20 years. Visitors to the bodega can explore their rich history and production methods through guided tours, offering an immersive experience into the world of sherry.
